Presentation
Sun, 2005-09-18 11:45 — uchoaWelcome to the Future of Geographic Information Systems!
Join the official Open 3D GIS Group at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/open3dgis.
Open 3D GIS intends to enable your geographic database (geodatabase) to be viewed in a 3D visualization on the web, using a web browser (such as Mozilla, Mozilla Firefox, Opera or Internet Explorer).
The diagram of this approach is shown below:

Uchoa at II Brazilian Meeting on Mapserver
Fri, 2005-11-11 03:30 — luizcoelhofHelton Uchoa will be presenting Open3DGIS at a local event in Brazil. The II Brazilian Meeting of Mapserver Users is being held at the University of Itajaí Valley (http://www2.univali.br/elis2/mapserver05/), in Itajaí, Santa Catarina, Brazil.
Uchoa, good luck on your presentation!
Be Carefull with Lower Case
Fri, 2005-10-21 22:41 — mauricio-devThis week in the mail list we had a user reporting a problem. I don't know exactly if this was the problem (as he stopped mailing us) but we know this is an issue (and not precisely a bug) and we should alert users.
Be carefull because the inputs on input_o3dg.htm are CASE-SENSITIVE. This means that 'ISOVALOR' is not the same that 'isovalor'. The demo.SHP has it's height column as 'isovalor' while the default entry on input_o3dg.htm is 'ISOVALOR'.
In the future versions we will fix this, but for now, please, be carefull with this file's height column.
Open 3D GIS in Manaus (Brazil)
Thu, 2005-10-06 20:53 — mauricio-devOn october 14, Luiz Coelho (luizcoelhof: One of Open3DGIS' first conceivers) is going to make a presentation about the Open 3D GIS Project in ESLAM (The Amazonas' Free Software Meeting). He told us that he was planning to talk about the free geoprocessing technologies, MapServer applications, Open Geospatial Consortium standards and, of course, Open 3D GIS' applications on 3D analysis.
We are sure this is going to be a great introduction of Open 3D GIS to Amazonas' free software community.
Good luck, Coelho!

Feelings
Thu, 2005-10-06 17:34 — mauricio-devOur community is growing larger everyday but we still haven't received much information about what do you think about Open3DGIS. I should remember that to post a reply you must register yourself, just so we can know each other. (we only ask your name and e-mail).
Please feel free to use this forum to express your feelings about Open 3D GIS.

Tested X3D Plugins
Mon, 2005-09-19 00:47 — mauricio-devIf you have tried a new plugin and it has worked with Open 3D GIS, please post it here so all users may know of this new tool.
Some links that should help
Sun, 2005-09-18 17:31 — mauricio-devFor some operating systems we have a suggestion of which plugin you should try first:
Linux and MacOS (Free wrl - GPL):
Windows (octaga free player - free as in "free beer"):
Whenever you have finished your installation test if it is working
Then you can play with our demonstration. :D
Have fun.
